Whitchurch Primary Care Centre
Armada Road, Whitchurch, Bristol, BS14 0SU
The new Whitchurch Primary Care Centre has been built alongside the old health centre in Armada Road by undertaking a land swap with an adjacent piece of land currently owned by Bristol City Council.
The old building was demolished to make space for Bristol City Council to develop a library. Bristol Libraries have confirmed they are committed to building a new library on the site of the existing health centre as soon as it is vacated.
The new primary care centre has been planned for some time to replace the existing overcrowded facilities and to allow improvement in the standard and range of health services being offered to patients.
The services delivered include:
- GP practices from the current health centre (17 consulting rooms)
- Treatment rooms and minor ops
- A local base for community nurses (health visitors, midwives, district nurses and others)
- Continence service
- Speech and language therapy
